On that last point about an upload buffer: EA's Skate series does that.

I like what you say about the second criteria.

Years ago I was a tailor & merchant in Star Wars Galaxies (MMO) and often made items in bulk, selling at low prices. I'd often check around the various planets and saw that a huge number of shops were actually reselling my goods. It was nice to think about how many people were running around, using my product. I'd often wonder what they were using the material components for.

In an MMO, it was easy to merely appreciate the link I was providing to the community. Applying that idea to various single player games holds many fascinating possibilities.
